Semaglutide is a modified peptide that activates the GLP-1 gut-hormone receptor. As an approved medicine it is sold under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus. Peptide material sold to laboratories as a research chemical is not the FDA-approved drug and is not intended for human use.
