What Thymalin is

Thymalin is a low-molecular-weight polypeptide fraction extracted from the thymus of young calves, developed by Khavinson and colleagues at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is a defined-process but undefined-composition mixture rather than a single molecule, so batch-to-batch composition can vary. It is a research/investigational immunomodulator, not an FDA-approved drug. Note: some products labeled "Thymalin" are actually thymulin (a different, defined nonapeptide) — check the COA.

TypeNot a single peptide; a polypeptide fraction extracted from calf (bovine) thymus
Molecular formulaNot definable — a multi-component polypeptide mixture
Molecular weightNo single value; component peptides span roughly 1,000-6,000 g/mol
Amino-acid sequenceNot a single sequence — an acid-extracted mixture of thymic polypeptides (thymopoietin-like peptides and short signaling peptides).
CategoryLongevity

Regulatory status: Not FDA-approved and has no US drug approval as of 2026. It has been used clinically in Russia and the former USSR as an immunomodulator, but elsewhere it is sold only as a research chemical. As an undefined biological extract it corresponds to no single approved chemical entity.

Frequently asked

How much does Thymalin cost?
About $35–$70 per vial, depending on vial size. Compare the same size across vendors.
Why do Thymalin prices vary so much?
Vial sizes differ, so always compare the same vial size across vendors. Batch testing, stock, and pack discounts move the true cost too — see what "Verified" means.
How are Thymalin vendors verified?
A vendor earns a Verified badge only after independent batch testing (HPLC purity + mass-spec identity) checks out against its COA. Verification is never for sale.
